From the beginning, Myan and Max knew they wanted a warm summery color palette with rich jewel tone accents. With Art Deco as the foundation to the celebration aesthetic, we draped the design in velvet and added a contemporary flair with ultramodern components.
The ceremony was minimal in elements but maximum in impact. The corner loft space was closed off by an enormous steel door, which served as the backdrop to the their vows. Floating above the couple was a cloud of muted florals in a sunrise of colors. The guests appeared to levitate as they watched the ceremony in transparent ghost chairs. Four groupings of the candy colored blooms lined the ends of the aisle with refined playfulness.
The reception space was alive with golden velvet table linens and gold wire chairs. The tabletops were accessorized with glass black rim chargers, sleek black flatware, a simply folded black velvet napkin and amber gem tumblers. In miniature black compotes, with minimal greenery, the wedding florals were elegantly punchy and included mixed gatherings of petal shapes, textures and soft-hued blooms. Illuminating the reception tables, we sourced slim pillar candles in the same muted olive color as the dinner menus.
The wedding party wore black suits and velvet dresses in either a spicy cinnamon, deep crimson or rosy mauve. Max was suited in an emerald velvet tuxedo jacket and Gucci shoes. For their ceremony, Myan wore an off-the shoulder sweetheart gown with ornate silken embellishments and a flowing tulle train. Switching things up for the reception, she kept her fashion cool and chic in a streamlined crepe gown with sharp side cutouts and a mod neckline, perfectly paired with a pearlized gloves and a ponytail.
The menu was a fusion of Asian cuisines that were served in what seemed an endless rotation of bountiful family style platters. For their signature cocktails, they spotlighted a perfect summer combination of libations — a Guava Margarita and a California Citrus Old Fashioned. With their closest family and friends, Myan and Max danced the night away to the hyped beats of their EDM/Hip-Hop DJ.
